Cosplay 101: Foamsmithing

Are you unsatisfied with the selection/quality of costumes at the halloween store?  Do you make your own costumes but stay away from armor? If yes, then I have a class that will be valuable to you. Bring your friends, family, or just yourself and I will walk you through each step in making your first armor piece from EVA foam (Puzzle Mats). The course will be 2 sessions where we will start cutting foam in the first session with a few basic patterns I have designed. My goal is to guide you through all the "dos and dont's" of foamsmithing so you will leave the first session with a completed piece. However, if you don't complete your armor in the first session, don't worry about it you can continue in session 2 where I will expand on the concepts of session 1 to help you add your own creativity and style in your next costume project.

1. Tools - What works and what doesn't
2. Pattern drafting - Tips and Tricks
3. Strapping techniques - I made this cool thing, but how do I get in and out of it?
4. Intro to Cosplay 102: Foamsmithing - using software to make your life easier

Classes begin: Friday the 13th!!!! Cycle A (Session 1&2): 10/13-10/14

Regular membership is $40 per month and 50% off regular membership ($20 per month) for students, seniors, out of area, military – active, reserve or veteran. Current members of Fresno Ideaworks are not eligible for this promotion. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer.    

CANCELLATION, CHANGE, AND REFUND POLICY

This is a high demand event with limited spaces available. A request of cancellation must be received by email to classes@fresnoideaworks.org 72 Hours prior to the event date to be eligible for a refund. Please note, a $15.00 processing fee will be assessed per cancellation from the total refund.
Regretfully, we are unable to issue refunds and/or credit for a missed class. However, in some circumstances at the discretion of the instructor and management, pending availability, a credit may be given towards future sessions with special circumstances. 
In the case Ideaworks must cancel a class, full registration fees based on the original form payment was made will be refunded.
